Q. How does the Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs assist me to prepare a proposal or tender?
A. The Consultancy team of the School can coordinate your submission and assist with layout, content and lodging with your client. Contact the team regarding your needs and the services available.
Q. How does MCCP manage the contract process?
A. UMEE Limited (trading as Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs, ABN 53 081 182 685) enters into a head contract with the client. MCCP then subcontracts the relevant U of M Department and/or Academic based on the terms and conditions of the head contract. Occasionally, external subcontractors also contribute to completion of the services to the client. Refer to OWR & Departmental Projects – Procedures for U of M staff.
MCCP maintains a Projects Management Database which contains details on clients, consultants and projects and is used to generate client quotations/contracts, subcontractor service agreements, and report / invoice milestones.
Q. What if I do not have professional indemnity and public liability insurance?
A. MCCP provides PI and PL insurance to Academics of the University of Melbourne who undertake Outside Work which is managed by us. Please contact us to discuss your individual needs.
Q. How do I determine the fee to charge for my Outside Work or Departmental Consultancy?
A. MCCP can assist to ensure your rates are commercially competitive and include any fees payable to the School to cover insurance, financial and contract management fees. It is important to discuss your rate with us prior to quoting to your client.
