Graduate Certificate in Bulk Freight Systems Management
Course Introduction
The course seeks to provide managers and specialists operating in bulk freight markets with the background and analytical skills and techniques to manage complex bulk freight systems efficiently and effectively.
Course Objectives
- At the completion of this course graduates should:
- Understand the concepts and technical content and management concepts relevant to complex bulk export systems,
- Appreciate how to create and acquire knowledge that is critical to effective management of bulk freight networks,
- Be familiar with methods of applying their knowledge in day-to-day real world operations,
- Realise how the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge within the field of bulk freight systems management is intimately relation,
- Be able to articulate and communicate their knowledge in an appropriate form,
- Be capable of independent critical thought, and
- Exhibit analytic and problem-solving skills.

Entry Requirements
Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification plus at least two years relevant documented professional work experience;
Or
Recognised professional work experience - an extensive amount of work experience which demonstrates a capacity to successfully complete the course. Students must provide a copy of their CV and a letter from their employer with their application form.
Course Fee
The 2008 course fee for the Graduate Certificate in Bulk Freight Systems Management is $3,000 per subject. Catering and course materials are included.
Students will not receive their results until course fees are paid.
Course Structure
This Melbourne Consulting and Custom Program course is based on a points structure with students required to accumulate a certain number of points in order to receive an award.
To satisfy the requirements of the Graduate Certificate students must successfully complete three subjects to accumulate a total of 50 points. Students are required to complete the following subjects:
- 360832 Bulk Freight Markets and Supply Chains: Dynamics and Structure 16.7 points
- 360833 Managing Bulk Supply Chains 16.7 points
- 360834 Defining Strategies for Bulk Freight Systems 16.7 points
