Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

The University of Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs in partnership with Motorola offers you a unique opportunity to attend Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Motorola has developed thousands of skilled Black Belts since they created the Six Sigma Black Belt concept in 1991.  Over time, Motorola has continuously updated and refreshed their courseware.  As a result, Motorola deliver the most comprehensive and rigorous program in the marketplace.  Their Six Sigma Black Belt Program includes practical case applications and significant hands-on practice with software tools.

Overview

Since a key role for Six Sigma Black Belts is to effectively lead project teams, our program prepares your candidates to do just that.  The Motorola Six Sigma Black Belt program gives your candidates the skills and knowledge they need for the exceptional leadership of business improvement projects.  Upon completing each segment of training, participants can immediately apply concepts and tools taught in training to their real-time improvement projects.

Black Belts are experts groomed in the Six Sigma methodology and advanced statistical tools.  They can come from all functions of your organisation.  Although candidates do not need to be statisticians, they need to be willing to use statistical tools to apply Six Sigma.

Black Belt candidates learn to use:

*The Motorola DMAIC Model is a systematic method for analysing and improving business processes.  It consists of five phases: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control.

The course is designed for:

Participants will need to have a substantial improvement project assigned by their organisation prior to starting the course and they will need to bring a laptop computer preloaded with MINITAB? Software. (See brochure for MINITAB? contact information).

Managers and Leaders who plan to lead a Six Sigma initiative in their organisation can become fully conversant with all the tools and techniques by undertaking Black Belt training. Alternatively, we have Motorola courses for those who'll have less involvement in the actual day to day project activities. As the level of direct interaction by managers and leaders in projects decreases, we offer Green Belt courses. In addition, customised training is available for group or company.

Achieving Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

Formal Six Sigma Black Belt certification has become a valuable credential in the marketplace. Certification illustrates that candidates have done more than merely complete the training - it means they have truly demonstrated comprehension and application of the Six Sigma methodology, tools, and techniques.
