Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research
This award offers specialist training in areas of clinical speciality at Masters level, and is taught by leading researchers and experts in their respective fields.
The award can be taken in isolation from the more substantial Graduate Diploma and Masters courses, but offers full credit into these courses if required. It is also possible to complete more than one Specialist Certificate.
Each Specialist Certificate requires attendance at a total of eight days of teaching, which may also include a short examination for assessment.
The Specialist Certificates currently available are:
- Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Biomedical Research Management)
- Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Neuroscience Part 1 & Part 2)
- Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Infectious Diseases and Immunisation)
- Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Oncology)
- Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research (Informatics and Applied Analysis)

Entry Requirements
An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in medicine, an allied health profession, science or social science which is recognised by the University as evidence of adequate preparation for the course plus documented evidence of at least one year’s full-time relevant professional work experience or doctoral study in a medical, scientific or allied health environment.
All students will be required to meet the English language requirements of the University.
Articulation in to Higher awards
On successful completion of the Specialist Certificate in Clinical Research students will be eligible for 25 points credit towards the Graduate Diploma and Masters programs in Clinical Research.
Course Fees
Fees for 2008 are $2,100 per 12.5 point subject, making the total cost of each Specialist Certificate $4,200.

- All course materials and assessment
- Access to on-line databases required
- Morning and afternoon tea and lunch on each day of teaching
